What are the reasons why the lights do not work?

The most common is a bulb burns out, the second most common is a bad Flasher unit or circuit board in fire tail. If it is a product model later, Ford, try turn the switch on the emergency lights and turn signals or maintain the turn signal lever to where you want click into place and see if it works. Oh ...... in the future, please add Year Make and model so we can better assist you, without having to guess, there are literally hundreds of other problems, by year, make and model.
