What is the difference between a turbo and non turbo Talon transmission? (Clutch / shaft power)?
I have a 1990 1g Eagle Talon TSI Turbo (FWD). 2nd gear in my transmission went out so I bought a 1g FWD tranny to replace it. I do not know what car left me and I am unsure whether a turbo or non turbo Talon ... I bought a new clutch and after installation of the car would not go into any gear with the engine running. It moves smoothly when the engine is stopped and the clutch is not necessary. My shop said it was likely that the misapplication of the clutch so when I called Summit Racing said that there are 2 different clutches. A 8 3 / 4 "diam. Clutch disc for the turbo and 8 1 / 2" diam. Clutch disc turbo vehicle. Is this correct? If my news is a transsexual and need a 8 1 / 2 "diam. clutch disc, can I change the input shaft to use my greatest (Turbo) 8 3 / 4" diam. clutch disc, I already bought? Any help would be GREAT!
